Benedict Cumberbatch - I know, I know, I'm just one of many, many, many fans XD

Ok, so im watching The Hobbit behind the scenes again, and its all about building Smaug and its actually really hard to bring my eyes to the keyboard every few seconds because BC, Benedict Cumberbatch, is on screen and Lordy knows I have to watch the screen every second he’s on. So yeah, this post is gonna be… about Benedict Cumberbatch x’D I feel almost… ashamed that I’m about to write this, but really I just wanna say that I appreciate his acting so, so, so, so, so, so, so much. Like so much. I think he’s also very good looking, but he’s married now and has a kid… so… XD But he’s a fascinating subject for me. Let me explain.
I’d heard of BC (I just shorten his name to his initials) probably around 2010 when Sherlock went BOOM! And I’d heard how popular he was and how everyone loved him, but I never really found anything that great about him. I even watched some Sherlock when it was on PBS and I remember thinking “Oh he’s good looking!” But then I’d see him from another angle and think, “Ok… not so much at that angle… XD” And I sort of wrote him off for like 3 years. It wasn’t until 2013 when he was doing a bunch of interviews for Star Trek and stuff, that I was reminded of him again and I remember thinking, “That dude is everywhere! What the heck? He’s not so cool. Whatever.” And I also remember around all this time I was waiting to get a hair trim and I read an article in like… Vanity Fair or Vogue or one of those types of magazines—anyway it was about him and I was like, “Ok, that’s cool. He likes to dance. Whatever.” XD And then, here rolled around my birthday and I saw Star Trek: Into Darkness and for a good 30 min I was enjoying it and stuff and then it came around to that part where the Enterprise team tracks Kahn to the Klingon’s planet and Kahn has that shoot out and sorta saves the team in order to get “captured” and stuff and there is this one point where BC/Kahn actually looks pretty funny and messy with his hair and stuff, when he whips off his hood, and I was just like “OH. MY. GOSH.” Like, it just hit me in slow mo and I was… kinda obsessed from that point on. I walked out of that movie and at the soonest point I could, went to the computer to learn as much about BC as I could. I was quickly reminded that he did Sherlock and I watched the first season in like… a day in between packing for vacation XD I also rented many of his movies and tv show stuff from the library… So… in short, like I said… I became obsessed. There was just something about him and his acting and his genuine love for the craft that showed so wonderfully in his work, (not to mention, I thought he was very good looking) that I really gravitated towards (me and everyone else on the planet).
I had never (and never have been since) been “obsessed” with another celebrity person like BC, other than my other favorite celebrity, Kim Heechul from Super Junior, and for me, this was a big deal. I was a major Heechul fan, like major, major, major, and I’ll probably talk about him later XD The fact that this dude, who came outta no where when I had already written him off—to do that and impress me so much was just, astounding to me and I was intrigued for so long. My favorite role of his is, probably like most people, Sherlock. Sherlock is absolutely wonderful and I love how… in the end, he’s a big kid. (Note: I’ve never read the Arthur Conan Doyle stories… but I have seen all the behind the scenes of the Sherlock series and I know a lot about the stories from which the TV originated XD) Sherlock reminds me a bit of myself, in some ways to… though I aint nearly as smart, though I’d love to be. But his… personality and stuff. However, he is quite extreme and I’d think that most people, even people who can relate to Sherlock, are not as extreme. (Also, I’m sorry if my thoughts seem a little disjointed, I’m still watching special features and therefore, a bit distracted) But yeah, I really like Sherlock and BC’s connection with Martin Freeman’s portrayal of John Watson. I also really like Smaug and just how… deep and guttural and evil, I guess, his voice is. I really like those sinister voices that are really low and you can imagine a wolf playing with their prey or something—or a dragon, rather XD (Side note: I really love Crispin Freeman, too, and all the anime voices he does. He’s my fav voice actor!) And of course, Kahn holds a special place in my heart XD      What else do I like him in? Oh! I saw War Horse because of him and when I saw it I was like, “Oh hey! It’s Loki! What you doing here?” XD And I liked him in Amazing Grace, a movie about abolishing slavery in England, way before America did, because he was laughing and having fun in part and I hadn’t seen that acting side of him at the time. 12 Years a Slave was also really good, that movie as a whole was really very impacting. I’ve seen more things of him, as well as a slew (slough?)  of interviews and behind of the scenes of him and I was very, very, in the world of BC for a good year. A year, probably doesn’t sound like a lot, but lets just say I had another epiphany about something around a year later, where… I didn’t need to be as “obsessed” about him as I had been. I’ll probably talk about it all sometime, but I’m still new to this blog thing and I don’t want to get too personal yet. XP
So yeah, there was a lot in here, and yet not a lot. I still really admire BC and all his acting roles and he seems like a really great person too. Id love to meet him one day and just say, “Thanks, and look forward to what you do next”. Real quick… as embarrassing as this is so admit to who knows who will be reading this… but I used to imagine randomly meeting him like on location for a movie shoot or just in everyday life or something XD Obviously, that’s not gonna happen, but it’s be cool! I promised myself that I won’t freak out if I ever met him, though. He’s still just a person, a regular guy and if I were famous I’d just want people to treat me like any other person, you know? But yeah, long post on how awesome BC is and that—OMG! I am really excited to see Dr. Strange!!!!! Marvel plus BC is going to be so cool!!!!! I have high hopes! Then again, even if it somehow isn’t amazing, I bet I’ll still be just as happy just to watch him act and do what he loves ^_^
