First off, am I the only one having a problem with Blogger loading when I want to write a post? Anyway, I just finished the Korean drama Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and it was AMAZING!!! It now, officially my favorite Korean drama ^_^ I say Korean because Hana Kimi is my favorite Japanese one :) I'm not even sure what my original fav K-Drama was though... besides watching You're beautiful last year, which I blogged about, I haven't watched a Korean Drama in a long time! I think the last one was Its Ok, That's Love. Anyway been a while!!! And this one was sooo nice! If you just wanna know if its good or not, and no spoilers, then stop here, and go watch it, cause its good :)
I really like all the characters, especially the side characters. Do Bong Soon played by Park Bo Young was just super cute and had the right amount of spunk to her! Although... K-dramas really like their crying... and there were a few times the crying when overboard -_- Just a bit. Well, maybe a lot. Well, def a lot, but I'll let it slide. She was a good character, and she was quite consistent. I say that because in a lot of dramas that I've seen, the character will change a lot just to fit the script and where they want the romance to go, and I hate that. I want the character to be consistent and have a clear understanding of themselves. But, overall she was great and she was funny and had great comedic timing and she acted so well with Park Hyung Sik and Ji Soo and the rest. She was probably the funniest with Kim Won Hae though XD
Park Hyung Sik is my new fav male character! He was just soooooooo cute! And you're probably like, "how old is this dude, that he's so cute?" And The actor is like 25, but his character is... well. What I noticed is that Bo Young and Hyung Sik actually play the typical opposite character. Usually its the girl that gets all woozy and acts crazy and is cute and stuff when she falls in love, but in this drama, its the other way around! Its him that gets the puppy love and he's so cute and funny to watch! ^_^ Also, yes, I gave away the romantic bit. But honestly, you can pretty much guess from the begining. Which, I actually like. I sorta hate it when there is an actual love triangle and who ever has to "choose" is all "confused" and gets annoying. This one is quite natural and yet still entertaining and you don't hate either dude. But yeah, Hyung Sik is sooooo cute! ^_^ And he always was my fav in ZEA :P
You'd think I'd talk about Ji Soo/Gook Doo now... but the story really is about Bong Soon and Min Hyuk and Gook Doo is fine and all, but I consider him a part of the secondary cast, really. And I really liked the side characters: Bong Soon's family and the gangsters and the high school kids and the fake monk dude and all them XD I also liked the bad guy for what he was, but that part of the drama wasn't as good as the rest of it. It was ok in the fact that it brought everyone together and helped to flush out characters and all that, but it was also the most stereotipical and most annoying partt all together. Mostly because I don't think the way those scenes played out-- I don't think people would act and be that way in real life. But, it served its purpose I guess. Oh, there is also an annoying part related to that bit and I know I'm being vague, but when you see it you'll know. I deals with the conditions of Bong Soon losing her powers -_- It was just stupid. Actually never mind I won't be vague. I think it was stupid that they made her lose her strength after accidently hurting an innocent person because in the begining the story said that only those who used their strength for selfish gain would lose their strength. She wasn't being selfish at all, she just made a mistake, while she was saving her friend! It was a complete accident! If anything, beating up all the gangsters and stuff is way more selfish than that -_- Ugh. That was so annoying. Anyway, she regains her powers and things end alright, but that was just stupid. My main problem with Korean Dramas and other asian ones is that stupid shit will happen just to... just to create tension or mix up the romance and stuff. I hate it when they make characters fight for no reason or make something bad happen for no reason just to... create drama. Ugh -_- Anyway, besides that, though, this show actually did a good job of not being so stupid. Which, I am soooo thankful for!!! The side characters were brilliant and remind me of Hana Kimi when you have the main story line but then all the stuff going on at the school is happening too and its just full of shenanigans. ^_^
Uhhhhhhh, what else. Besides other little things here and there, I really, really liked this show and highly recommend it and I think you'll fall in love with Ahn Min Hyuk too :) If you're a girl... Or you're a gay guy... but... I dunno, maybe you'd like Gook Doo then. I dunno. Anyway!!! Its getting late for me and I didn't get enough sleep anyway today, so I'm a little all over the place.
(Also, no I didn't die XD I know I was posting regularly pretty much... if anyone cared... but I just go t busy and in a rut where I couldn't think of anything to write, so I just didn't. But then I watched this show and I had something to write! ^_^)
