Beauty and the Beast Review

I saw Beauty and the Beast today! (Well I'm posting this tomorrow... so I saw it yesterdayXP)
:D And I'm def gonna say that it was very good! I really, really liked it and I liked the new songs they put in and how they fixed the biggest plot holes in the animated movie. The costumes were gorgeous, though, not quite as gorgeous as Cinderella, in my opinion, but still beautiful and stunning! My fav one was Belle's last dress. The floral print is something I'd want to wear if it were cut at the knees XD And right now I have the songs stuck in my head XD
Now... as for performances I really like everyone... except... Belle... I know, I know. But its not that I didn't like Emma Watson as Belle, I did, but I felt like some of her facial expressions were a little blah to me and that in a cast full of very well seasoned actors and actresses, she was almost drowned out for me. But honestly I still really liked her, and I'd say that as the movie went on I liked her more and more. But, it just wasn't as good as I think the others were.
I thought Kevin Kline as Maurice and Ewan McGregor were the best, and a close third and fourth were Josh Gad as Le Fou and Luke Evans as Gaston. I know there was a big hubbub over Le Fou being "openly gay", but honestly, its not that obvious. Not once does anyone mention him being gay, its only seen in his actions. And honestly, I love myself a sassy gay character XD And this version of Le Fou was very funny and I thought he was done rather well. Luke Evan as Gaston was very, very, good too. I was especially amazed at his singing! He has a great voice! And Kevin Kline as Maurice, I liked because I didn't find Maurice a total idiot. Kline really grounded the character and even dealt some really funny lines XD Ewan McGregor I really liked because I feel like he sort of help it all together. And I just really like how optimistic he always was. :) Oh, I was also like "Wow" at Audra McDonald as Garderobe! She has a great voice! Although in looking her up I see where I've seen her before XD
If you watch the movie, and you're a fan of the animated, and are aware of the various plot holes that have come up over the years, I think you'll be glad at the way they are handled in the live action. I think this version really makes a lot more sense and more backstory are added to both Belle and the Prince, and I really liked that.
What else...? I know some people don't like all the CG, but honestly, I thought it was fine. I thought it was at least on par with more movies today and the Beast was just as good as Gollum in The Hobbit. I, however, do not think it was up to the new Planet of the Apes franchise. Those apes look LEGIT! Those apes look legitly REAL! And this movie is very good, but there's still technically room for improvement.
Ummmmm... what else...? I really want to see it again to see if I notice more things. I also saw Logan two weeks ago and forgot to write about that. If I see it again, I shall! But, I think that's about it for now. Overall, I really enjoyed Beauty and the Beast and if you want to, I say go ahead and check it out :)
